Linton Lane near the level crossing, Linton

Linton Lane combines two restored ponds with maturing woodland on a former opencast site. Whooper Swan adds waterfowl interest, while Yellowhammer and Tree Sparrow are associated with the surrounding hedges and woodland edges. Separate entrances lead towards the ponds on either side of the lane, allowing a short visit without tackling the whole woodland loop. The level pond approaches differ from the rougher grass track through the trees, which can become boggy. Park only in the small designated area south of the level crossing and keep the entrances available for other users.
