Wanlip
Wanlip Meadows is a River Soar floodplain reserve with wet meadows and shallow scrapes beside Watermead Country Park. The Trust names Teal, Lapwing and Snipe among its winter birds, while receding water exposes muddy margins used by passage waders later in the year. Public access is from Wanlip village or on foot from the neighbouring country park. The Trust reserve provides a focused meadow visit within the wider Watermead area, using the public route described here. The reserve’s character changes with flooding, so the wetland views can differ substantially between visits.
