Wootton Drive approach, Stafford

Doxey Marshes brings wetland birdwatching close to Stafford, with open flashes, scrapes and pasture on the River Sow floodplain. The Trust describes Lapwing display flights in spring and winter flocks of Wigeon and Teal. Use the established paths to watch these habitats, allowing for sections affected by floodwater. A current Trust notice says a hide is closed because of a broken lock, so do not rely on entering it. The wider reserve remains described as open access; the facility closure should not be confused with a promise that every path or hide is usable.
