Netherstone Grove, Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield

Hill Hook is a local nature reserve where a former mill pool meets wet alder and willow woodland, marsh, meadow and drier trees. The Trust’s wildlife account names Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, alongside Goosander, Great Crested Grebe and Nuthatch, with further birds using the scrub and pool. Begin at the Netherstone Grove entrance and use the established paths and boardwalks to compare water and woodland. This is a useful small reserve for a mixed birdwatching circuit, with a railway approach available from Blake Street rather than relying on a dedicated visitor car park.
