Robeys Lane and Pooley approaches, North Warwickshire
Alvecote Pools is a series of shallow waters beside the River Anker, created by mining subsidence and now managed for wildlife. Little Ringed Plover and Great White Egret are named in the official reserve account, alongside Great Crested Grebe, Pochard and Tufted Duck. Follow the permitted paths to look across the pools, allowing for muddy sections and kissing gates. Management returned from the Wildlife Trust to Warwickshire County Council in early 2026, so use the council’s current visitor information for enquiries. Use the permitted approaches to explore the linked pools and their margins, keeping to the public routes through the reserve.
