Tucklesholme is a former gravel quarry being restored as a Trent Valley wetland reserve. Little Ringed Plover, Oystercatcher and Lapwing are directly named by the Trust, which describes the developing shingle and wet-grassland habitats. Follow the established tracks from the Station Lane car park and use the two viewing screens marked on the reserve’s interpretation board. This is a place to watch the restoration from the public route, leaving the wildlife areas undisturbed. The operator’s general advice favours spring waders and winter wildfowl, without giving individual visiting months for the three birds listed here.
