North of Holywell village, approached from East Grange

Holywell Pond is a coastal-fringe wetland where winter Wigeon, Goldeneye and Tufted Duck can be watched from the public approach and boundary route. The current public-hide closure is an important limit: do not enter the damaged building or assume that the members’ hide is an unrestricted alternative. A public footpath reaches the reserve between houses at East Grange, with limited roadside parking nearby. Use this as a modest pond-side stop and leave space for residents and other walkers. The level boundary path provides a clearer route than the grass track towards the locked hide.
