Squadrons Approach, Hornchurch, Havering

Ingrebourne Valley offers a reedbed-and-marsh birdwatching visit beside Hornchurch Country Park. The council identifies Sedge Warbler and Cetti’s Warbler in spring and summer, with Gadwall and Teal among the ducks using the marshes in winter. Start at the Squadrons Approach visitor arrival and choose one of the public wildlife walks rather than entering the reedbeds. The hardened Greenway gives another way to explore the valley, while the discovery centre provides a convenient meeting point. Keep the open-water and reed-edge watches within the routes shown by the operators.
