Kidwelly
Kidwelly Quay provides public views over the upper Gwendraeth estuary, with a canal-side path adding freshwater marsh and scrub to a visit. Carmarthenshire Bird Club names Pintail, Greenshank and Redshank among the autumn or winter birds. Watching conditions depend on the tide: birds can move down-estuary as water falls, while the highest spring tides may push them out of sight into saltmarsh creeks. The historic quay is reached by road beyond the railway station. A short public circuit offers further views without needing to enter the marsh or the nearby treatment works.
