Llanfairfechan, Conwy

Nant y Coed follows the tumbling Afon Ddu through ancient oak woodland above Llanfairfechan. The council’s reserve leaflet names dipper, grey wagtail and redstart, in its account of this small woodland valley. A pond and stream sit below steep wooded slopes and scree. Current access information overrides the older leaflet’s circular route: the stepping stones at the top are closed, and there is no through route across them. Plan a return along the open approach instead. The Newry Drive entrance and nearby informal parking provide a published public arrival below the wooded valley.
