Ore estuary behind Hollesley Bay · IP12 3JW

Simpson’s Saltings is watched from the river wall, with no public access onto the fragile saltmarsh itself. Suffolk Wildlife Trust names Oystercatcher and summer Little and Common Terns along the reserve edge. The wide estuary view can make a rewarding addition to a Hollesley-area visit, provided the public footpath suits the weather and ground conditions. Keep the sea-wall path as the watching place. The point of this stop is to observe feeding birds across the marsh and water, without disturbing the shore or attempting to enter nesting habitat.
