Spurn National Nature Reserve
A narrow, weather-shaped peninsula between the North Sea and Humber Estuary where migrant birds are funnelled past dunes, scrub, wetlands and seawatching points. Spring brings Wheatears, Whimbrels and Ring Ouzels; autumn can produce Woodcocks, Whinchats, Wrynecks and Yellow-browed Warblers; winter adds Brent Geese, Shelducks, Snow Buntings, Merlins and large wader gatherings on the internationally important estuary.
