Canvey Wick is a former industrial site where open grassland and scrub now support wildlife. The RSPB manages the reserve with Buglife for the Land Trust, with particular importance for invertebrates. Bird interest includes Lesser Whitethroat and Redwing on the operator page, while a May 2026 RSPB local-group visit recorded Whitethroat and Nightingale among a longer list. Two short named trails let visitors explore the habitat mosaic. This is an outdoor walking stop, with loose surfaces and views into scrub rather than a visitor-centre or hide-based visit.
