Canvey Island · SS8 0QR
West Canvey Marshes offers a substantial wetland and grassland walk on Canvey Island, with lagoons, reedbeds, scrub and saltmarsh alongside the trails. Skylark song and Redshank give accessible subjects for a first visit, while the operator also highlights Marsh Harrier. Open viewpoints let you compare birds across different water areas rather than relying on one hide. Seasonal livestock changes the routes: the seawall and Pantiles viewpoint are restricted between September and the end of December. Use the currently open main paths and keep an eye on signs at the start of the walk.
