Birdwatching in Worcestershire

By Does Your Duck Quack · Planning updated 27 October 2026

Choose Upton Warren for wetland-and-hide watching or Tiddesley Wood for an ancient-woodland visit near Pershore. Upton Warren has freshwater pools at The Moors and saline pools at The Flashes, reached through separate entrances. Its seasonal plan includes breeding waders, terns, passage birds and winter wildfowl. Admission requires a day permit or eligible membership evidence. The Trust identifies wheelchair access to Hobby Hide and two Moors hides along a stoned track through a padlocked barrier; the access details need arranging before travel. Steps lead to the Flashes boardwalk and hide, so the two sections offer different access choices. Tiddesley Wood combines broad rides, smaller paths and an orchard. The Trust’s leaflet names spring Green Woodpecker and Marsh Tit, while its March 2025 magazine describes Woodcock as a winter visitor. The main ride is stoned; smaller earth paths can be muddy, slippery and sloping. Its signed visitor car park is on Besford Bridge Road and has a two-metre height barrier. Dogs must remain on leads and designated paths.
