Grafton Flyford, reached on foot from Grafton church
Grafton Wood is ancient broadleaved woodland with large oaks, coppice, glades and a dense shrub layer. The Trust specifically names Goldcrest, Treecreeper and Great Spotted Woodpecker in the wood, making its birds a worthwhile complement to the better-known butterfly interest. A visit begins with a walk across fields from Grafton church rather than a drive to the woodland itself. Follow the Wychavon Way and reserve paths, noting that grass and earth surfaces become slippery when wet. The limited church parking requires particular consideration because it is a private car park used by visitors with permission.
