Leven (4 mi / 6.4 km)

Dumbarnie Links protects dune grassland on the Fife coast, reached on foot from Lower Largo. The Trust’s wildlife selection names Skylark, Reed Bunting and Linnet, alongside the reserve’s much broader plant and insect interest. Birdwatching can be woven into the coastal walk, with the grassland left undisturbed rather than used as a shortcut. The operator currently warns that flooding has affected paths through the reserve. Allow that warning to shape the visit: footwear and a willingness to turn back matter more than reaching every part of the dune system.
