Flambards Close, Meldreth

Melwood is a small community-managed woodland beside the River Mel in Meldreth. Its mixture of mature trees, thickets, riverside habitat and a grassy ride gives a compact local walk. The conservation group's December 2019 database records Goldcrest, Blue Tit and Great Tit within Melwood itself, distinguished from records in the surrounding area. These are historical operator records, not a current sightings report. The county council confirms public access along the river footpath, with smaller paths exploring the wood north of the footbridge.
