Roydon Fen combines restored open fen, reedbeds and wet woodland close to Diss. The woodland at its western end gives way to mown fen, with a viewing platform offering an outlook across the reeds. A narrow boardwalk and soft paths make this a slow listening walk rather than an easy surfaced circuit. Waveney Bird Club reports from 2013–17 document Fieldfare, Siskin and Chiffchaff here, giving a recorded birding interest alongside the reserve’s better-known wildflowers. These are historical records, so treat them as seasonal pointers rather than a current sightings list. The operator particularly recommends May to September for the reserve overall.
