Alveley visitor centre, Bridgnorth
Severn Valley Country Park provides a riverside birdwatching walk through woodland and reclaimed colliery ground near Alveley. The county bird society names winter Siskin and Redpoll in the riverside trees and Goosander on the river. Begin at the Alveley visitor centre and choose a route along the established paths towards the Severn. The park also contains small wetland watching places, but bird interest varies between visits and the riverside slopes can be strenuous on the return. The visitor-centre arrival and the Highley side are treated as parts of this one country-park destination.

Getting there: Follow current tourist signs to the Alveley visitor centre, WV15 6NG. The pin is derived from the society’s published visitor-centre grid square, not a riverside bird location.
