Stocker’s Lake provides a winter wildfowl outing on the edge of Rickmansworth. The Wildlife Trust names Wigeon, Gadwall and Shoveler among the ducks using the lake, with alder trees and wooded islands adding another habitat to watch. Follow the public circuit gradually and spend time at the hides, comparing the birds on open water with those feeding close to the margins. Start from the Aquadrome arrival rather than a vague lakeside postcode. Visitors who use accessible gates should bring a RADAR key and read the route information before setting out.
