Church Wood offers a small woodland walk from Hedgerley village. Wide sections of path wind through trees and spring Bluebell glades, with Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Buzzard highlighted by the RSPB. A single marked circuit gives visitors a straightforward way to explore without a long outing. The route crosses sloping ground and can become muddy after rain, with roots and stones adding to the uneven surface. It suits patient listening as well as looking into the canopy. Arrival is from the village rather than a dedicated reserve car park.
