Strathclyde Country Park, Motherwell
Strathclyde Loch gives a broad open-water watch within the country park, with public lochside paths and multiple parking areas. An RSPB group visit recorded Little Grebe, Goosander and Cormorant on the loch, separately from its later Baron’s Haugh stop. Recreation shares the water, so bird distribution can vary with boats and other activity. The council’s Watersports Centre is closed for refurbishment, and works restrict access near reception. Plan around the currently open paths and temporary arrangements rather than relying on facilities inside that building.
