Werneth Low Road and Higham Lane, Hyde

Werneth Low offers a documented RSPB local-group birdwatching walk across hill farmland and mixed woodland above Hyde. From the Quarry car park, the group describes a relatively level track towards the cenotaph, with Skylark and Meadow Pipit in the fields in spring. A further woodland section adds a different set of birds, including Treecreeper throughout the year. Choose the length of circuit carefully because the broader park includes slopes. The value here is the specific field-and-woodland bird route and seasonal change, alongside the wide views across Greater Manchester.
