Broomhill, Barnsley · S73 0UP
Gypsy Marsh is a small meadow reserve close to Old Moor, with fen on one side and drier grassland on the other. The RSPB names Yellowhammer and Reed Bunting among its birds. Barnsley Naturalists also recorded Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff during a June 2020 visit; those are historical observations, with no current recurring season established here. Start at Old Moor for the RSPB's route advice, then take time to listen and scan the meadow edges from the designated rights of way. Orchids and butterflies add interest to a slower visit alongside the birds.
