Wombwell Ings is a small wetland in the RSPB's Dearne Valley group, with a main pool, grazing grassland and views towards Darfield. Lapwing, Redshank and Avocet are the birds named in the operator's introduction. A path circles the reserve and a hide overlooks the flash, making it possible to combine a walk with a longer stationary watch. The grassland is grazed by horses, so use the public rights of way and give livestock space. Old Moor provides the nearest substantial visitor facilities and the recommended parking arrangement.
