Bull Bank, near Covenham St Bartholomew · LN11 0PD

Covenham Reservoir is a raised, concrete-lined waterbody beside the Louth Navigation Canal. The gravel route around its top gives broad views across the water and surrounding farmland. Winter is the clearest reason for a birding stop: the RSPB local group names Great Crested Grebe, Goldeneye and Tufted Duck among its wintering waterbirds. The published route begins with a steep climb from the car park. Visitors who cannot negotiate the gates around the water can consider the viewpoint outside the sailing clubhouse, while assessing the steep approach for themselves.
