Daneshill Road between Torworth and Lound · DN22 8RB
Daneshill Lakes is a compact wetland-and-woodland reserve on both sides of the road between Torworth and Lound. Its flooded gravel pits sit alongside damp willow, drier trees and grassland, giving a birding walk several different habitat edges. Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust names Willow Warbler, Whitethroat and Blackcap in summer, and Siskin, Water Rail and Goldcrest in winter. Footpaths provide access around the reserve, beginning from the limited parking on the south side of the road. This is a separate reserve from nearby Idle Valley, with its own visitor information and exact-site bird list.
