Bix Bottom, near Henley-on-Thames
Warburg Nature Reserve combines wooded Chiltern slopes with flower-rich grassland in the valley bottom. BBOWT lists Common Crossbill and Woodcock alongside Nuthatch, Treecreeper and Goldcrest, offering a woodland focus alongside the reserve’s well-known plants and butterflies. A marked one-mile wildlife walk starts near the visitor facilities, while longer walks reach steeper ground. The approach lane is heavily potholed, so arrival needs some care. This is a reserve where a shorter walk near the centre and a more demanding exploration of the slopes can be quite different visits; check the route map and current path signs.
