South Woodham Ferrers, River Crouch · CM3 5WP

Marsh Farm Country Park gives South Woodham Ferrers a public riverside birdwatching walk beside the Crouch. The council identifies winter Brent Geese, Redshank and Pintail, with Sedge Warbler, Cuckoo and Skylark among its breeding-season birds. Sea-wall viewpoints look across marsh and water, while ditches add closer habitat to inspect from the paths. Choose a manageable out-and-back section before exploring farther around the park. Much of the network has grass or bare-earth surfaces, so match the route to recent conditions. Keep dogs under control and leave birds room to feed across the grazing marsh.
