Public car park beside Pease Bay Holiday Park
Pease Dean is an ancient woodland reserve in steep, sheltered valleys just inland from Pease Bay. The Scottish Wildlife Trust names Treecreeper, Song Thrush and Bullfinch for the reserve, while established paths let visitors sample its woodland without entering the steepest wet ground. From the car park beside the holiday park, cross the road and use the kissing-gate approach to reach the reserve. Part of the Southern Upland Way passes through the woodland. Plan this as a woodland birding walk with uneven terrain, rather than assuming the nearby coastal holiday facilities provide an accessible route throughout.
